What is steamers baseball?

Steamers Baseball is a collegiate summer baseball team that competes in the Coastal Plain League. The team is based in Edenton, North Carolina and was founded in 1997. The league is comprised of teams from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia.

The Steamers have won two CPL championships, in 2007 and 2010, and have produced numerous players who have gone on to play in the major leagues. The team plays at Historic Hicks Field, which was built in 1939 and is one of the oldest baseball stadiums still in use in the United States.

The team is made up of college baseball players from across the country who come to Edenton to play during the summer months. The goal of the league is to provide these college players with an opportunity to improve their skills and showcase their talents for professional scouts. The Steamers also offer internships and volunteer opportunities for local residents who are interested in working with the team.
